Powershare home backup now includes compatible Model 3 and Model Y vehicles with Powerwall, as well as Cybertruck. The installation path depends on your vehicle and home energy equipment.

Compatible Model 3 & Model Y

These vehicles can extend home backup with Powerwall and a Universal Wall Connector or Gen 3 Wall Connector. Vehicle compatibility, software, account registration, pairing, and Tesla activation must be confirmed.

Cybertruck

Cybertruck supports a separate home-backup path without Powerwall using a Powershare Gateway and Universal Wall Connector. It can also be used with a compatible Powerwall setup.

Check your vehicle first

For Model 3 or Model Y, Tesla currently directs owners to use vehicle software 2026.32.6 or later, then open Software → Additional Vehicle Information and check that Powershare Support says Enabled.

Tesla Remote Meter

With compatible equipment, Tesla Dynamic Power Management uses a Remote Meter to monitor electrical usage and adjust Wall Connector charging power as the available capacity changes.

We review whether this approach suits your electrical service, install the metering equipment when needed, and configure the charging system during commissioning.
